Play Therapy

We understand that children communicate their thoughts and feelings differently. This is why play therapy is a proven, evidence-based approach that uses play as a method for children to express themselves, process emotions, and develop coping skills.

Through carefully guided activities, children are able to express their thoughts and feelings that may be confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to put into words. Toys, games, art, and imaginative play become the child’s “language” allowing them to safely explore emotions, reenact experiences, and work through challenges at their own pace.

Is My Child Right For This?

Play therapy is effective for children typically between 3-12 years old, as it’s tailored to match a child’s developmental level and individual needs.

Our play therapy approach can be adapted for younger children who may have limited verbal skills as well as older children who benefit from creative and expressive outlets.

Play therapy benefits children that are experiencing:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Trauma
  • Behavioural/social challenges
  • Attachment and relationship issues
  • Emotional regulation
