Hexagon Psychology was founded by Dr. Mitch Colp, Dr. Ryan Matchullis, Chris Pawluk, and John Laing with a shared vision to create a more accessible model of psychological care. By shifting towards an inclusive, evidence-based approach, Hexagon Psychology has quickly grown to become one of Canada’s premier mental health providers.

Hexagon Psychology delivers online services to clients across Canada having achieved licensure in every province and territory and becoming one of the few truly coast-to-coast psychological care providers.
We are happy to provide in-person (by appointment only) services at our office in Airdrie, Alberta.

We provide psychological assessment and counselling services for children, teens, and adults. No matter the service or where you reside in Canada, we provide clients with the answers to questions they have had about their mental health, relationships, career challenges, and personal growth.
Our services are tailored to help you gain clarity and improve your overall well-being.
Assessment
During an assessment, a mental health professional will gather information through observations, standardized tests, and other methods to get a clear, full picture of what might be affecting your overall well-being.
We offer Assessment for Children and Teens and Assessment for Adults.
Counselling
Mental health is health and it affects everyone. Having someone to help guide you through difficult times and unhealthy patterns can be significant in improving your quality of life.
We offer Counselling for Children and Teens and Counselling for Adults.
Play Therapy
Noticing behavioural problems? Play therapy is a proven, evidence-based approach that uses play as a method for your child to express themselves, process emotions, and develop coping skills.
We offer Play Therapy for children ranging from ages 3 – 12.

Launching Hexagon Psychology
Opened first clinical space with a comprehensive range of psychological assessment and counselling services.
- Hexagon implemented virtual counselling and tele-assessment workflows to ensure uninterrupted care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Earned designation and approval as a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) Continuing Education provider.

Meeting Growing Clinical & Training Needs
Became an approved doctoral internship site for up and coming leaders in the psychology field.
- Established tele-assessment and hybid workflows into permanent service models.
- Acquired additional property to support clinical, training, and administration growth.

Scaling & Expanding on a National Level
Successfully achieved licensure in every Canadian province and territory becoming one of the few true coast-to-coast psychological service providers.
- Delivered a federally funded, Canada-wide tele-assessment training initiative providing free training to psychologists, students, and faculty in every major capital.
- Launched a national pre-employment psychological screening service leading to partnerships with police and safety-sensitive organizations.
- Became an American Psychological Association (APA) sponsor.

Setting Industry Standard
A set of our Hexagon clinicians served as lead authors of the CPA’s Tele-Assessment Guidelines, which are now a national standard for virtual and hybrid assessment.
- Initiated the CPA accreditation process for residency program.
