Kayla Brill
Kayla is currently completing her graduate degree in Educational Psychology at the University of Calgary, specializing in School and Applied Child Psychology. Her previous research has focused on school-based mental health programs, peer support services, and student transitions to university. For her master’s thesis, she is exploring how the transition to university affects students’ mental health, academics, and social connections, with the goal of identifying ways to better support students during this important period.
Throughout her degree, Kayla has gained extensive training and experience in conducting cognitive, academic, and social-emotional assessments. In addition, she has experience providing support to children, youth, and adults during times of crisis, as well as to individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. Guided by a strength-based approach, Kayla believes in focusing on each individual’s unique skills and resources to help them work toward their goals.
In her free time, Kayla enjoys long walks outside, reading, and baking, often testing out new recipes to share with friends and family.
