Kaleem Khan
Kaleem is a Registered Provisional Psychologist who earned his M.Sc. in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary. His graduate research and specialized clinical training focused on workplace stress and its impacts on workers, their families, and their parenting abilities.
From research to practice, Kaleem aims to understand mental health presentations in various contexts and perspectives. His clinical training focused on the identification of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, and giftedness in children and adults. To address the accompanying reading challenges in special populations, Kaleem has run reading intervention groups including children and adolescents with ADHD and autism. Kaleem also holds certification in providing empirically supported intervention for first responders (Before Operational Stress) and is passionate about effective methods of fostering resilience in response to challenging experiences across the lifespan.
As a long-time respite care worker, Kaleem initially became aware of the unique family struggles of families with autistic and developmentally disabled children. After his undergraduate degree, Kaleem spent over five years learning the rigorous ins and outs of evidence-based assessment in various psychological practices. In various research roles, he coordinated data collection for large scale multidisciplinary studies, and published and contributed to peer-reviewed research involving psychosocial outcomes in cancer survivors, intergenerational trauma, and child neurodevelopmental outcomes related to stress during pregnancy.
Kaleem lives in Calgary with his partner Jacqueline, spending his free time practicing yoga, perfecting cooking techniques, and bonding over video games with his niece and nephew.
