Dr. Charlene Barva
Dr. Charlene J. Barva is a Registered Psychologist (and Certified Educator) with more than 24 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Dr. Barva graduated from the University of Calgary in 2005, and holds a Ph.D. in Applied Psychology in addition to an M.Sc. degree (1998, University of Calgary), a B.Ed. degree (1990, University of Lethbridge), and a B.A. degree (1984, University of Alberta). Dr. Barva has years of experience providing psychological/educational assessments, consultation, diagnosis and treatment for children, adolescents, and adults, and has an educational background in diverse, and multicultural issues. In her assessment capacity, she has been (and is still) responsible for the training and supervision of graduate students in the provision of psycho- educational services in a school-based setting.
Dr. Barva has served on various professional committees and Boards, and has presented at a number of conferences nationally and internationally. She is a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists’ Association, the College of Psychologists of BC, and the Canadian Psychological Association. When she is not working, you can find her outdoors in nature enjoying activities like running, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and skiing. She is an ardent reader, and she loves to hang out with her significant other and beloved two four-legged furry companions Rylei and Jaspr.
