Candice Kutyn
Candice is a Registered Social Worker who obtained her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Manitoba and is completing her Master’s of Social Work with a clinical specialization in trauma informed practice through the University of Calgary.
She has over 16 years of experience working with individuals with mental health and substance misuse. Her own history and healing from personal and intergenerational trauma lead her to a career in helping others on their own paths of resilience and post traumatic growth.
Candice understands that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and healing, and uses a holistic approach, taking into account an individual’s entire story. This includes childhood experiences, family systems, relationships, trauma, oppression and the impacts of societal expectations. She has spent years developing her therapist’s toolbox so that she can apply different therapeutic approaches that are individualized to your specific needs.
Candice specializes in the areas of depression, anxiety, addiction and substance use, trauma, pre/post-natal mood disorders, pregnancy and infant loss, being stuck and finding yourself, codependency, perfectionism, shame, imposter syndrome and feelings of being not good enough, and supporting LGBTQ2S+ individuals.
Candice is an executive board member of the Airdrie Pride Society and is inspired by those living in authenticity. Candice is dedicated to giving back to the Airdrie community through volunteer work and involvement in important initiatives.
Candice has called Airdrie home for twelve years and shares her life with her three children and her cat named “Ruth Bader Catsburg.”
